.Limited-Edition Print (13" x 19") of 500 signed and numbered by the artist.
In 1971, "Big Daddy" Don Garlet's brand new innovative rear-engined Top Fueler was tearing up Drag strips all over the country. In fact the only race he lost was the final round of the US Nationals at Indy...It was this car, of the former "World Champ" Steve Carbone, that outran "Big" on that fateful day...I'm sure Steve had no idea that this would be the "Swan Song," for the front motored "Slingshot" style dragster at Indy.
As far as the race went,,, it will be remembered for the long burn down the two cars did at the starting line...When the two finally staged, "Big's" car went up in smoke allowing Carbone to take the win, 6.48 to 6.65...
We wanted to highlight this great piece of Drag Racing history, as it is an almost forgotten event...Celebrate this historic event by collecting this awesome print....
