Description
For auction is a lovely piece of carnival glass made by The Dugan Glass Company of Indiana, Pa. The shape is a ruffled bowl with a saw tooted edge. The pattern is known as "Apple Blossom Twigs". The bowl measures approximately 9 3/8" in diameter and is 2 1/4" tall. The foot has a diameter of 3 3/4".The bowl has a beautiful translucent white base glass with an
beautiful
iridescent finish that shows fuchsia, blue and purples when held to the light. This iridescent finish is on both sides of the bowl. The bowl
depicts a
beautiful
raised pattern of a Apple Blossom flower in the center bottom surrounded by a 4 corner overlapping twigs and leaves frame. The detail and sharpness of the mold is evident in the pictures. It has a basket weave back with a collar base. This pattern looks like it is sitting on a trellis with the basket weave back because of the translucency.
This bowl is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no nicks, chips, cracks or dings.
The white base color is not as commonly found. This piece was made circa 1912-1914.
