COLOSSAL MAYAN CALENDAR COMMEMORATIVE COIN PROOF LUCKY MONEY VALUE 9.95
The Maya were one of the greatest civilizations to ever exist.
From around 250 AD until their demise at the hands of Spanish Conquistadors in the late 1600s, the Mayan Empire ruled Central America.
They built magnificent cities with huge stone temples and pyramids and developed advanced systems of writing, mathematics, and astronomy, which they used to calculate an accurate calendar.
Legend has it that the Mayan calendar not only marked time but predicted the evolution of the human race.
According to the calendar that charted mankind's 3,000-year life cycle, their world would end on December 21, 2012.
Thankfully, the prediction did not come to pass and mankind survived.
But even this miscalculation failed to diminish the intrigue and mystery surrounding this ancient calendar.
