    Description

1825 Capped Bust Half Dollar Rating Service Gave It An MS, Environmental Damage
An 1825 Capped Bust Half Dollar, a Genuine and eye appealing, 196 year old half dollar. This half dollar is a nice looking coin. This coin was sent in to PCGS to be slabbed and graded a few years ago. At that time PCGS did not slab any damaged coins. They did assign a number to it (6142.97/22094927) that can be traced through their system. The grading attempt came back as an unslabbed coin because of Environmental Damage (corrosion). It resides in the plastic flip that came back from PCGS.
This half will place proudly in anybody's collection. There are no holes, gouges, or damage other than the corrosion. The Motto on the reverse is complete and very bold. LIBERTY on the obverse is also complete and very bold. Liberty's ear is also very well detailed. The clasp and adjacent curl are both sharp. The edge lettering is fairly distinct. The weight of this half is 13.4 grams. The pictures make this half look nice but it looks even better in person.
