1/8 Big Red Rod Ford Model T Non-Motorized Lindberg #73044 Shrink Wrapped MISB

I need to clear some space on my shelves (and this takes up a lot of space), so I need to part with some of my collection. Lindberg Models was one of the classic model companies in the US before the market shrank and was taken over by excellent and innovative overseas players. This is the classic kit of the Big Red Rod – a souped-up Model T street racer. I have heard that the newer versions of this kit have no chrome parts - just grey plastic – regardless of what the box says. No way to know if this kit has chrome until you open it. Anyway, this large-scale kit gives you an opportunity for an educational and entertaining project that will take up about 18” on your shelf or mantel.
There are dozens of listings for this kit on eBay (from a wide variety of sellers), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship to you very quickly.

The Round 2 company has picked up the Lindberg line, along with several notable others (like MPC, AMT and Polar Lights). Unfortunately, the Round 2 site makes no mention of this kit. Other sources point out the following kit highlights:

Scalemates.com has a listing that shows this is a 1999 release based on the classic 1964 tooling that has been the basis of over a dozen releases since then. Aside from the fine box art and links to Model T references, there is not much here.

that spends the first half going through the instruction book. Then he pulls out the mammoth parts, even measuring the big ones. He zooms in on the extraordinary texture on many of the interior parts. If you have the time, it is a good way to get a look at what is in the box.
This kit is in an enormous, gorgeous box about 32” x 19” x 5.5”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is pristine and still sealed with the original shrink wrap, so it is
factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready.

Those familiar with my listings can tell that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye toward building them when I had time. Always a bargain-hunter, I accumulated many more than I can build, so I found myself in a Collector status (sounds nicer than a hoarder).
